About Gorilla

Gorilla Accounting is a Bolton-based accounting firm working with clients across the country. With 55 staff and around 5,000 active clients, Gorilla has grown rapidly over the past decade, scaling from a few hundred clients to one of the UK's larger remote accounting practices.

The firm works primarily with self-employed individuals and small businesses, and operates a cloud-first model, most of the software they use is cloud-based, and they needed their core accounting platform to match that approach.

The Challenge

Over the last 10 years, Gorilla Accounting grew from a few hundred clients to 5,000. Their previous software, Digita, could not keep up.

As the client base expanded, the volume of data required to keep Digita running began to slow the whole team down. For a fast-growing, remote-first business, that was not sustainable.
